New art came in this morning and it's hot. The product of a very talented Mr. R. Lapotto, this is a small look at the deck plans for The Sun's Gem, the City-States of Vallinar's sole airship. It's a work of wonder, fashioned from aether, lightning and magic; the most second most famous floating landmark in the whole campaign setting (fyi, it's located above the City of Damas). It's one of those unique parts of Rhune: Dawn of Twilight, the sort of epic transportation that at least one or two of my playtesters keep telling me they're going to steal. All Grand Theft Airship jokes aside, this is one of my personal favorites in the setting. Because, while tons of steampunk settings have filled their skies with airships, this is the only one of its kind.
It can (and should) be the centerpiece to any Rhune: Dawn of Twilight campaign!

As of right now, I'm only showing a portion of the much larger, much more elaborate image. I could go on and on about how awesome this image is, but if you're a Rhune fan, you probably already know we don't pull any punches when it comes to image! My hat goes off to Rob and I can hardly wait to see the final version.
Yes, this will have statistics in the game. Yes, your players will probably want to steal it, too.
In the meantime, I want to share something with each of you. It's a bit of a personal note, but fits perfectly with the theme of this post. It's also one of the factors that inspired The Sun's Gem.
