To say I’ve been at the edge of my seat, waiting for Fergal to finish this site, would be a massive understatement! But it was time well spent, as far as I’m concerned! If you’ve had a chance to look around, you know as well as I do that the site is both simple and stunning – something I’ve very fond of. Better yet, it’s intuitive enough that I’ll be able to update it far easier than I was able to with my other sites!
Of course, this means I’ll be streamlining (cough cough… deleting) a number of those older sites and blogs in the near future. Simply put, I’m rolling all of my design energy into this company and this site! I may continue my personal blog on the side, but that’s still way up in the air.
But that’s not really what I want to write about at the moment, so let’s talk SBS! 2012 is going to be a big year for us! First, I’ve added two members to my design and development team (hence the “us”). I’ve also invited an old favorite to take part, as well. In a way, this is a massive step for me. I’ve held Rhune: Dawn of Twilight pretty close to my chest these last few years and opening some of the design elements to outsiders almost feels like heresy! But the benefits, I think, far outweigh the challenges – because from what I’ve seen so far, these guys are good!
So, what do we have planned for you? Well, later this spring we plan on releasing two little e-books!
The first is called The Automata: Guide to the Awakened and it outlines one of the principle construct races of Rhune! With four base models and dozens of options to choose from, it is truly a modular class that will expand a player’s options for constructs. It will feature the amazing art of Terry Maranda!
The second e-book is called Of Stone, Stave, and Heart which will be the first book dedicated to the runes, both as a language and as magical component of Rhune. It will cover the 24 unique runes of the Elder Futhark, addressing their place in both Rhune and other fantasy settings. Finally, the book will include a new prestige class called the Vitkarr – a true runic master. Of course, this will also feature the art of Terry Maranda, who has made himself an indispensable part of what Rhune is becoming! If you like runes, this book aims to excite your imagination!
That said, we have several (think, 2-3) other projects in preproduction that we hope to have out and available by the year’s end. We hope to release one of these by Gen Con and the other two no later than December! So, keep an eye peeled for what we have in store.
Cheers,
Jaye!
